Art Inspired By The Pandemic
In my Pandemic Series of paintings, I often painted in acrylics over 24” x 36” canvases that I had previously completed. I let the color, images, and character from the old paintings emerge. I was often pleasantly surprised by the outcome. It was as if the painting was talking to me.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has been a challenging time for all of us, our families, and our country. Painting helped me tremendously to feel more positive by energetically creating new art. My subjects were people I could identify with, being so isolated and living through a Pandemic. 2020 was very difficult, yet a teaching experience to look inside myself and calmly discover new aspects of myself.
