DUBROVNIK
Many people think of Dubrovnik as the city where “The Game of Thrones” was shot. True. But there’s so much more. We stumbled on every cobblestone. and looked at each nook and cranny with delight. We zoomed up to the top of the mountain in a cable car for a sumptuous seafood lunch and miles of breathtaking views. This ancient city has suffered through the worst wars yet, survived in a cultural way that is astounding. We appreciated the cathedrals and castles, but most liked the markets near the wharf.
